First and foremost, I love God. More than anything, I care to see Jesus Christ's name made known and made great in all the world. He saved me: rescued me from a life of sin and death. Over the last fifteen years, the Holy Spirit has slowly but surely transformed me into a man more like Christ—a process that is still very much ongoing. Along the way, he has given me a passion for the glory of God and a delight in his word. My ultimate goal is that those passions inform everything I say or do.
For those who are curious, I am a Reformed baptist, though I am happy to be a member at Wildwood Community Church, which is neither Reformed nor denominationally Baptist. A friend once summed up my theological views accurately, if rather humorously, by calling my a Pres-matic Bap-terian: part Presbyterian, part charismatic, and part Baptist.
I graduated with a degree in physics, but now work as a programmer. I like writing, though perhaps that is obvious, seeing as you are reading a blog with over four hundred entries. I also enjoy composing in my spare time, have a passion for classical Greek, and am interested in everything from theology to linguistics and from history to high-energy physics. My favorite books include Star Wars novels and Desiring God. In short, I am a strange person.
Given my oddness, I remain stunned that I have such an amazing and beautiful wife. Jaimie married me in July, 2009 and I still consider myself the most spectacularly favored man in the world. Scripture tells us, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord" (Proverbs 18:22), and I found a very good thing indeed! Spend some time reading her blog, Refining Process—it strikes a very different tone than mine, and she is a significantly better writer than I am. My own bias aside, I think you will enjoy and be blessed by her content.
